The Pitot Tube
— pimpleFoam, community Christmas competition 2019 —
Since 2017, József Nagy arranges each year the OpenFOAM® community Christmas competition. In 2019 the topic was to investigate the Pitot tube. Tobias took part in 2019 again, and the case he studied is freely available for the community now. A more detailed description of the case is given in the »Publication« section. Here, Tobias provides a PDF file that explains the case and its set-up.
— Please participate in the next year. Its fun —
The case demonstrates the generation of an OpenFOAM® example of an arbitrary generated Pitot tube geometry, which was used in the community Christmas Competition 2019 by Tobias Holzmann. The case set-up from the case was the basis of the submitted community Christmas competition report. As already mentioned, further information can be taken from the free available »Publication« download section.

gThe available training cases are tested and built for different OpenFOAM® versions. During the tests, only the OpenFOAM Foundation version of OpenFOAM® was used. Furthermore, the following software packages are required for most of the training cases: Salome®, ParaView®, and for optimization tasks one also needs DAKOTA®. The cases might work with the ESI version of OpenFOAM® too (not tested). Additionally, there is no support for Windows-based OpenFOAM® versions.
